My 2010 Goals (Progress Report)
You probably remember my earlier post about setting goals and resolutions for the New Year, and I thought I would give you a quick update on some things.
First, the shoes… I bought Skechers Shape Ups fitness shoes for men (and women!). I’ve been wearing them a lot more. They definitely work. I know my posture has improved and I certainly have less back pain than I used to. I wore some of my old shoes for a walk around the block, and I don’t know how I ever did it with those shoes before. I honestly cannot say enough good things about them. They remain one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time.
Second, the Nintendo Wii Fitness… I love the games, but I haven’t been using them as much as I’d like to. It’s amazing how much changing my routine, even to add in 30 minutes of fitness, can be difficult. But, once I start playing, I definitely find that I play for longer than 30 minutes. Since I’ve been so successful with the shoes and regularly walking, I can now shift my focus to being more intentional about working out with the Wii every few days.
More to come soon, along with continued coverage of the great adventures during my recent vacation with the in-laws.

I also have the Wii Fit and I'm not trying to make excuses, but there are a few things the company could do to make me want to play it more often. The main thing is it takes so long to get through all the little messages and cutesy scenes. If I could just turn it on and jump right to menu of games it would be great. Also, having to use the remote and point at what I want to click is a bit of a pain too. Pushing the “A” button is o.k., but I'd like to be able to just get right to the working out. All that said, I have felt progress from the times I've used it, and I too am working on doing it more.
